On December 8, 2023, we hosted our Annual Township Managers Meeting. The event was held in a very unique venue – the library of The Montgomery Bar Association in Norristown. With 40 attendees, we were so fortunate that the Bar Association hosted. They provided a great lunch spread, a festive atmosphere, and offered us a glimpse into history with their treasured property. We were equally grateful that Independence Blue Cross, Comcast, and K9 Resorts – Audubon sponsored the event.
The managers who participated included: Jason Bobst of West Norriton, Alice Eastmore of Skippack, Sean Halbom of Worcester, Anthony Hamaday of Upper Merion, Crandall Jones of Norristown and Timothy Tieperman of Upper Providence. Each spoke of the tremendous development, enhancements and amenities their townships had. It was interesting to hear about the coordination that goes on between funding agencies and the five dozen different townships/boroughs in the county. The one unique challenge they all had was infrastructure and transportation. The hope is to add more transit and additional public transportation options.
Our Chamber proudly hosts three events each year that feature legislators and managers. Some elected and, in the case of last week’s event, some SELECTED (appointed). We look forward to this event in 2024 and we will also hold a luncheon in July for our State Representatives and one in October with our County Commissioners.
